Your body has internal wisdom.

Float therapy provides an opportunity for you to listen.

We live in a world of near-constant stimulation. Rarely do our brain and body have the opportunity to relax and disconnect. As a result, chronic physical and mental health conditions are abundant, with over a quarter of the population suffering from pain, anxiety, depression, and other conditions worsened by stress.

Float therapy is a practice that involves lying in salt-water solution, heated precisely to skin temperature, in a sound and lightproof environment. Free from sensory input, the mind and body can relax and find serenity.

This therapy doesn’t require drugs or the discussion of personal thoughts; it only requires you and water.

You can settle in and just be.

  • WEIGHTLESSNESS

High concentrations of epsom salts in the water allow you to float weightlessly, taking pressure off your joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons, which can relieve pain.

  • NO LIGHT

Darkness promotes relaxation. Free from sensory input, the sympathetic nervous system, responsible for our ‘fight or flight’ response, winds down, allowing for deep relaxation.

  • NO SOUND

Silence encourages mindfulness. Connect with yourself without distractions, observe your thoughts and listen to your body.

  • NO SENSE OF TOUCH

The water is kept at a skin receptor-neutral temperature, meaning you lose track of where your body ends, and the water begins.

A Powerful Antidote to Stress & Anxiety

An hour in a float pool lowers blood pressure, cortisol levels, and other stress-related neurochemicals, such as adrenaline. It also reduces activity in the amygdala - the brain area that is overactive when stressed or anxious.

  • Sleep Better

Sleep deprivation has been linked to various chronic diseases, higher mortality rates and lower quality of life. Float therapy has been shown to improve both sleep duration and quality.

  • Meditation & Mindfulness

Float therapy helps us reconnect with what’s essential and process our thoughts. This might help understand what’s happening in our lives, think about things from another perspective, or give us time to consider what we want to change or how to do so.

  • Pain Relief

An hour in a float pool allows our skeleton to align naturally, taking stress off our joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. This can benefit conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, chronic tension headaches, and chronic pain in the back and neck.

  • Boost Brain Function

Eureka! Floating allows our brain to enter a theta wave state which has been shown to improve creativity and learning. Following a float, people often report mental clarity.

  • Physical Recovery

Recovery and soreness following intense exercise can be improved with floatation therapy. Studies show a 25% reduction in blood lactate levels following a one-hour float.

  • General Wellbeing

All benefits are interlinked: you might float to reduce chronic pain and end up less stressed and sleeping better too.

The Process

A session lasts for one hour with additional pre & post-showering time. It all happens in a private room where you’ll find everything you need to make the most out of this experience. Fresh towels, a robe, earplugs, make-up removal wipes, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and a hairdryer are provided. Please bring a hairbrush and anything else you might want to get ready after a shower.

  • Before

Please arrive ten minutes before your float begins so we can give you a complete walkthrough.

It is recommended that you eat a light meal approximately thirty minutes before your session and avoid caffeine for six hours beforehand.

Shaving or waxing before a session is not recommended, as the salt in the water can irritate the skin.

  • During

Remove all clothing and jewelry. Gently lie back and let the buoyancy of the water help you float. You control the pool lights, so turn them off when ready.

Let your head and neck relax and feel the tension release from your muscles.

  • After

The end of the float is signaled by music, the pool light turning on, and then the pump will start. Once your session has ended, exit the pool, shower, and get dressed.

We recommend you take some time to enjoy the peace and quiet before going back out into the world.
