Industrial Hearing Testing

We are authorized to conduct industrial hearing tests under the British Columbia Occupational Health and Safety Regulation.

Drug and alcohol testing

We are a certified collection site offering POCT (point of collection)/express testing, lab-based testing, and alcohol testing.

Post Offer Employment Testing / Functional Testing

An assessment is done at our office based on the physical requirements identified in the Job Demands Analysis to determine if a prospective/current employee is able to safely perform critical job demands.  The testing includes a musculoskeletal screen completed by the physiotherapist.

Job demands / ergonomic analysis

Azu Health provides an onsite analysis of a position that gives detailed information on all the physical requirements. Information such as lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, repetitions, and forces are identified. A Job Demands Analysis is required for Post Offer Employment Testing and is helpful for Return to Work Planning and rehabilitation programs.

Return to work planning

We can help improve the safety and durability of a Return to Work from injury or disability by creating a gradual Return to Work Plan. We consult key stakeholders including the employer, employee, and physician to design a week by week plan that gradually increases the physical demands through incremental changes in hours and duties. We monitor the employee through return to work and adapt the recommendations for limitations as required.

Fit for work conditioning

We develop an exercise based active rehabilitation program which helps a worker regain the strength and endurance to safely perform a job following injury or disability.  The focus is on functional and work simulation activities.

On site job coaching

We provide on-site job coaching assessing biomechanic and ergonomic factors which can reduce the risk of injury. We include education and suggestions on modifications for the employer and/or employee to reduce the risk of injury.

Worker education seminars

Education sessions can be done on site.  Topics can include pre-shift stretches, safe lifting, healthy eating in camp, nutrition myths, and other topics by request.

Does your benefit plan cover a Registered Dietitian?

Better nutrition can improve worker health and productivity by reducing the risk of health conditions leading to employee absences.  If your current employee benefits plan doesn’t include coverage you may want to consider adding nutrition services to your plan.
